We’ve been watching THE CHI on Showtime and it’s soooo good! Fans of the hit series got a chance to celebrate its success at South by Southwest® (SXSW®) Conference and Festivals last week at The Showtime House at Clive Bar on Rainey Street in Austin. Live hip-hop artists took to the stage to share their art of music.

Lee Fields & the Expressions, whose music is featured on the series, got the crowd pumping.

Brooklyn rapper Leikeli47 spit rhymes in her signature mask.

Air Credits laid down lyrics as well.

The Roots, who had their SXSW Concert canceled due to a security concern, were in the house.

The celebration also included a custom sneaker gallery, Chicago graffiti art and food.  The night culminated with a DJ set from RUN-DMC’s Darryl DMC McDaniels.

Seated on the orchid covered terrace that overlooks the entire Miami River and skyline, Mrs. Obama dined with a group of 11 friends and secret service.

Executive Chef Angel Leon was tasked with preparing a curated six-course menu featuring the highlights of Seaspice’s menu including oysters and caviar, local stone crabs, 1855 prime Ribeye and appropriately ending with the bestselling tres leches. The response from the former First Lady to owners Maryam and Carlos Miranda was literally, “I have to tell you every course was simply exquisite!”

FLOTUS forever and group left the restaurant at 11 p.m. almost undetected by other diners.

It’s only a week until Easter and what’s destined to become an annual tradition – NBC’s live version of Jesus Christ Superstar airs Sunday night!

If you haven’t heard – John Legend is playing the pivotal role of Jesus. Who’s playing his Judas? None other that Broadway veteran Brandon Victor Dixon.

Brandon’s onstage credits include his nominated role in The Color Purple, Motown: The Musical, Shuffle Along and Hamilton. Now’s he’s taking on a part of biblical proportions – and told us all about it!

Ben Vereen and Carl Anderson have made this role iconic. Who do you admire and how are you making it your own? 

I actually do love Ben Vereen. And Carl Anderson is the quintessential Judas for me. My goal is to bring truth to this, shatter the myth that Judas is a betrayer, and show the love of Judas – why he had to do all the things he had to do. Remember, he says, “I really didn’t come here on accord.” He’s saying, “I’m not here because I want to be, just tell me I not dammed for it.”

Have you always been a big fan of JCS? Is Judas your dream role?

I never really knew of the show. I had never seen or heard most of it until two or three weeks ago. I did know the song, “Heaven On Their Minds,” and I always wanted to sing it for something. And here I am getting to sing for it for this production. I have been conditioning my vocals gradually for the day’s proceeding and have been paying attention to the vocal journey to make sure I manage accordingly for the the biggest number “Superstar” too.

You’ve done a ton of Broadway – but now we’re adding cameras. Is that intimidating?

It’s my first time working with camera, and I am thinking I have to do same thing with my blocking. I’m notorious for changing my blocking and moving around however I damn well please to tell the story. But obviously, not here.

What’s it like working with John Legend – was he born to play Jesus?

I think definitely he’s going to be fantastic; we had a really great time. John has been able to live within his music in a personal sense for many years to all our enjoyment. It’s amazing to see him apply that to the most collaborative way of storytelling where he can dig in and find the relationship of the story.

You were Aaron Burr in Hamilton, who is also considered the “bad guy” in his show. Any parallels?

Everybody already thinks that these two are the bad ones. My job is to reveal to them the spectrum of these individuals. My goal in every performance is to reveal the spectrum of humanity and that’s a message that needs to be revealed over and over. A lot of the problems we have today is that people refuse to see the spectrum of human: we’re light and dark, we can be good and bad. If you don’t acknowledge that, you won’t be able to evolve.

Hello my lovely Divas! I’m a petite gal with some pretty big boobs. While some women would kill for killa cleavage, it can be a challenge when you’re 5-foot-nothing – there’s not a lot of space between your rack and the rest of yah. Here are three tips to make it work.

1. Start With A Great Foundation

It all starts with what’s underneath – and that’s a great bra. This busty guy loves her minimizers, which redistributes breast tissue to make your rack look less voluminous. NBC is bringing Jesus Christ Superstar Live In Concert to our TV screens on Easter Sunday. If you’re a musical newbie, it’s the story of Jesus’ last few weeks on earth before his cruxificiation – and the people who came into his life to foster his greatest sacrifice to all of humankind (we’re talking about you, Judas!).

If you on the fence about whether to watch this Sunday while chowing down on the Easter ham, read on for three amazing reasons to check it out – and maybe make it a holiday tradition with the family.

1. This is some major diverse casting. NBC has really made a commitment to showcasing its live productions with diverse casts (hey, they did The Wiz and Hairspray). And JCS Live is no different. The cast is a rainbow of colors and ethniticies. Broadway stars Jin Ha, Jason Tam and Brandon Victor Dixon play Annas, Peter and Judas, respectively. Sweden Idol winner and rock star Erik Gronwall is Simon (with TV DivaGal’s personal fave song in the musical), British actor Ben Daniels is Pontius Pilate and shock rock god Alice Cooper is King Herod. Sara Bareilles is in the definitive female role of Mary Magdalene and of course, John Legend is playing the title role of Jesus. The apostles ensemble, full of working Broadway actors, are male AND female, taking the step for equality one pace further.

2. The cast is connecting with the music and its spiritual core. Broadway vet Norm Lewis who plays Caiaphas, a high priest who’s been tracking Jesus’ rise to fame, shares that he didn’t connect with the music as a child because there was some “unholy” fear of its content. “The album – I remember back in second grade – there was a controversy for me, the Christian aspect of it: was it blashempous, was it not? For a long time, I was scared to listen to listen to it.” Norm shares. “I grew up as a church kid, my grandfather was a preacher, my dad was very high in the church. Once I got non-scared to listen to it – I listened to how [Jesus Christ Superstar composer] Andrew Lloyd Webber wrote this music and the emotion in the music. So you didn’t even have to act, it acts for you. And people love it.”

3. Jesus Equals Obama? Jason Tam, who stars as Peter, the aposotle who winds up denying Jesus three times (you’ll have to watch to find out why), has made the most interesting comparison between Jesus and POTUS 44. “I find myself comparing over and over Jesus to President Barack Obama,” he declares. “The way that we place all of our eggs in one basket, even if that person doesn’t want it. I would place all my hopes and dreams and aspectations of fixing all of the world’s problems in this one person. And Obama is similar to Jesus in the sense that he didn’t want that, he wanted to empower you to make the changes you want to shape the world and your view.” Wow!

In honor of Martin Luther King‘s 50th anniversary – CBS News is sitting down with the leader’s three remaining children – Bernice, Dexter and Martin Luther King III. It’s their first joint interview in the 12 years since their mother Coretta Scott King passed away. The interview will run over several of CBS’s platforms.

CBS News correspondent Michelle Miller interviewed the children at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta. The siblings discussed grieving their father and living up to his legacy. They talked about disagreements among them and revealed for the first time that President Jimmy Carter intervened to help mediate.

My Lovely Divas! TV DivaGal got a sneak peek of the new comedic series The Last O.G., which premieres tonight on TBS. And I’ve got three reasons why you’ve GOT to check out the show tonight!

1. It’s Orange Is The New Black – After Time Served. The Last O.G. is the story of Tray Morgan, who just ended his 15-year stint in prison. He returns to his hometown determined to put young wayward men on the right track – only to find out his once-seedy neighborhood has been gentrified. This is a fun twist on the classic “Fish Out Of Water” story, and destined to lead to some very funny moments, as Tray tries to solve his new life problems using prison tactics – all in the capable hands of series star Tracy Morgan. Which leads us to no. two…

2. Tracy Morgan is Back In Business! We all know that Tracy suffered a horrible car crash a few years back, and no one was sure if he’s ever perform again. Not only is he back – Tracy’s better than ever. Much like his character, he’s been through a life-changing event and it’s only made his comedic timing sharper and sassier. Of course, having an ace comedic ensemble doesn’t hurt either – with the likes of Tiffany Haddish, Cedric “The Entertainer” and Black-ish’s Allen Maldonado.

3. At Its Heart, The Last O.G. Is A Love Story. The first thing Tray wants to do is reunite with his dream girl, Shay (Haddish). Of course, she’s moved on – and kept a big secret in the process. It’s enough to give Tray hope that they are meant to be together – and we know Tray will spend an entity (or however long the series run) working to win her back.

You don’t need to go all out in order to get a great body. You just need to follow a few tips to help you look and feel great. These are also perfect for any Divas lacking motivation or feeling sluggish. Follow a few simple fitness tips and you will be off to a great start.

Start With A  Smoothie
One of the best ways to start your healthy eating regime is to start the day with a fresh smoothie. There are so many different ways to ensure that you get all of your vitamins, but one of the simplest is to buy a good blender and start making smoothies. There are so many ways and ingredients you can use in a smoothie – and we say be inventive: it produces the best results! Pre-chop your fruit and veg and store it in the fridge or freezer. This way you will always have a handy supply of ingredients ready. Need inspiration? Check out the books from one of our fave health divas, chef Candice Kumai.

Add Protein
Ladies, we need our protein! Eggs make a delicious breakfast, but they’re also great in salads along with chicken, beef or tuna. Vegan? Beans or lentils mixed with a grain can give you your protein, or try tofu and tempeh.  If you have high-calorie recipes that you love, why not flip them and try to bake, steam or saute? You can still have all the flava – and a lot fewer calories!

Walk and Run
Getting in shape doesn’t have to be fancy or expensive. All you need is a great pair of shoes. Walking and running are great ways to get out there, raise your heart rate and see the world, one step at a time. Find a local park or take a hike up into the woodlands for a fun and challenging adventure. Take things slow at first and then work up to your desired fitness level. Get HIIT

It was the recurring skit of “Black Jeopardy” with one very special contestant – T’Challa from Wakanda!

Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman was the guest host and he reprised his most successful role. Of course, being from Wakanda, his answers were hysterical.

Hello Divas! We’re starting off the week with a little parenting advice from Tamera Mosley. Married to Adam Housley since 2011, the couple has two children: Aden John Tanner Housley and Ariah Talea Housley. She’s also a very proud auntie to her twin sister Tia’s son and baby-in-the-making!

We spoke with Tamera who has partnered with Febreze ONE to share how she relies on the fabric and air mist to safely cleans away odors without aerosols, dyes or heavy perfumes and help eliminate everyday odors at her home for her family.

Here’s her advice!

Travel on a 24-hour clock. Tamera prefers flights later in the day so her kids will sleep during their normal bedtimes. Bring healthy snacks and load up their iPad or devices with movies and games.

Visit your homeland. One of the best way to educate your children of their heritage is to visit your homeland. The Real host and her family took a trip to the Bahamas a few years ago as it’s their mother’s place of birth, and they had a chance to connect with many cousins.

Love your body after baby. Pregnancy can take a toll on the figure you once had. Tamera advises that you love yourself and don’t compare your body to anyone else’s. Fitness is important, so create your own fitness goals and take your time achieving them so they are sustainable

Character is important. Tamera’s parents raised her and her siblings to have “character” and to be good people – something that’s she’s passing on her children. It’s evident in how patient and easy going she is.

Thinking of what to watch on TV tonight? Well, may we suggest the final season of New Girl, which commences on FOX tonight!

The DivaGals got a sneak peek of the last season opener, and while we don’t want to tell you much – we can confirm that there is a lot of loving going on – and it definitely looks like the rainbow coalition!

If you recall, Nick (Jake Johnson) and Jess were finally admitting their love for one another in the last episode of last season. Count them as bonafide white couple. Then things get interesting.

Married couple Schmidt (Max Greenfield) and Cece (Hannah Simone), who have Jewish and Indian roots, were expecting a baby when we left them. Well, it’s three years later – and their adorable child is now three!

Winston (Lamorne Morris), the funniest black dude on the planet, is still booed up with Aly (actress Nasim Pedrad who has Iranian roots) and they have a little special delivery surprise of their own.

It will be nice to see how things wrap up with these best pals-turned-family. We’ve got a feeling it will be one happily ever after with a side of goofball cuteness. We can’t wait to bite in.

BET Network’s new series In Contempt tells the story of Gwen Sullivan (Erica Ash), an opinionated public defender who doesn’t always follow status quo when representing her marginalized clients.

The DivaGals attended a panel discussion with the cast of the new series, and yes, the conversation got heated. But it needed to.  It’s estimated that more than 75% of criminal cases use the public defense system, according to a study by Huffington Post. This means only one-quarter of Americans accused of a crime can afford, or care to hire a private defense attorney. Of these citizens using the public defense systems, racial minorities constitute the vast majority.

Listen in as Erica and fellow series stars Richard Lawson (who plays her dad) and Christian Keyes (who plays her lover) speak about the problems in the system and their own personal run-ins with biased law enforcement.
